In the scarce original pictorial dust jacket depicting the Adventure series protagonists navigating dangerous waters, minor creasing and short closed tears to edges, otherwise remarkably well preserved. Contemporary ownership inscription erased from front endpaper.

The eighth and final title in Enid Blyton’s celebrated Adventure series, following the exploits of Philip, Dinah, Lucy-Ann, Jack and Kiki the parrot. Set against the backdrop of a remote Middle Eastern river system, the story combines archaeological mystery, hidden caverns and perilous journeys through uncharted waterways. The series is widely regarded as Blyton’s finest sustained adventure fiction, appealing to generations of young readers and collectors alike.
