London: Odhams Press Limited, n.d. (c.1930). Two volumes, octavo. A handsome two-volume English translation in finely executed full leather bindings of mottled brown calf, gilt-ruled borders, raised bands, and gilt lettering to spines (‘DON QUIXOTE’, vols I–II). The boards carry a blind-stamped crowned device within a gilt-ruled frame. Smooth turn-ins; all edges clean. Printed and bound in Great Britain by Greycainne Limited, Watford, Herts. Title-pages within an elaborate ornamental border; frontispiece portrait of Cervantes. Well-printed on quality paper with generous margins.

A fine copy. Bindings firm and square with light, even wear only; interiors clean and bright throughout, no foxing of note, no inscriptions.

The Jarvis translation remains one of the classic English renderings of Don Quixote. Odhams’ production here is notably attractive, combining solid mid-century craftsmanship with traditional decorative taste—an appealing set for the shelf or gift.
