Written by Paul McCartney with Geoff Dunbar and Philip Ardagh, High in the Clouds is an illustrated children’s adventure first published in 2005. The story follows Wirral the Squirrel, who leaves his woodland home after it is destroyed and embarks upon a journey to find the legendary animal sanctuary of Animalia. Combining adventure, humour and an environmental message, the book reflects McCartney’s longstanding interest in animal welfare and conservation. Illustrated by Geoff Dunbar, it represents an unusual literary venture by the former Beatle and has particular appeal to collectors of McCartney, Beatles and music-related material.
