Edition limited to 500 copies of which 450 are on handmade paper, this copy is numbered 292. Bound in contemporary full green morocco, signed on lower turn-in ‘L.A. 1900’ (with a dragon in gilt). Covers framed by a gilt floral pattern, spine divided into six panels by five raised bands; title in gilt direct in the second, the remainder tooled to a floral pattern, with the date in gilt at heel. All edges gilt. Spine lightly sun tanned. A fine copy.
There is a facsimile of titlepage of the original edition (1738): “A complete collection of genteel and ingenious conversation, according to the most polite mode and method now used at court, and in the best companies of England: in three dialogues by Simon Wagstaff”.
