Constructed in 1836 and Engraved in 1837-8. Six folded linen-backed coloured maps. Prepared and engraved under the direction of Lieut. Larcom. Scale One Inch to Four Statute Miles. Each map is approximately 810 x 660mm. Housed in a contemporary full worn calf pouch. Title in gilt on spine. Dublin: Published and Sold by Hodges & Smith, and James Gardner, London, 1838. Some mild foxing. A very good set of maps. Rare.The atlas is important in the history of cartography, through the use of innovative techniques such as density maps and flow lines.
