History of the Moore Family is a privately printed genealogical work compiled by Anne, Countess of Drogheda. It documents the lineage of the Moore family (Earls of Drogheda) originating from Kent, England, who later established themselves at Moore Abbey in Monasterevin, County Kildare. The work features illustrated pages and large, folding, linen-backed pedigrees tracing the family’s distinguished heritage, which intertwines heavily with other prominent Anglo-Irish dynasties such as the Loftus, Clifford, and Ponsonby families. The seminal branches of the family covered in the compilation include: The lineage traces back to Sir Edward Moore, a soldier who settled in Ireland during the Tudor period. The Earls & Marquesses of Drogheda: Sir Garrett Moore was created 1st Viscount Moore of Drogheda in 1621, with the Earldom achieved by his descendant in 1661. The title was later elevated to a Marquessate in 1791 for Charles Moore. The genealogy deeply focuses on their connection to Moore Abbey, the family seat in County Kildare, which they famously resided at for two centuries.
The contents include chapters on: Mellifont; The Moore family in Kent, 1066-1560; Sir Edward Moore, 1560-1601; Notes on the Moore Pedigree, by Mr. G. Burtchaell, Office of Arms, Dublin; Sir Garrett Moore, 1st Viscount Drogheda, 1566-1627; Charles, 2nd Viscount, 1627-1643; Henry, 1st Earl of Drogheda, 1643-1675; Charles, 2nd Earl of Drogheda, 1675-1697; Henry, 3rd Earl of Drogheda, 1679-1714; Henry, 4th Earl of Drogheda, 1714-1727; Moore Pedigrees; Clifford Pedigree; Monaster Evin: Edward, 5th Earl of Drogheda, 1727-1758; Charles, 6th Earl, 1st Marquis of Drogheda, 1758-1823; Edward, 7th Earl, 2nd Marquis of Drogheda, 1823-1837; Henry Seymour, 8th Earl, 3rd
