Rebecca Helena Apjohn, the youngest daughter of John Apjohn, Professor of Chemistry at TCD, was born in 1841. She married Dr. Maurice Charles Hime, of Foyle College, L'Derry, the eminent educationalist, in 1887. Hime was called to the Irish Bar, but did not practise. Entering the teaching profession, he was from 1866 to 1877 Head Master of the Monaghan Diocesan School.
