At the age of fifteen Michael Brennan was sworn into the I.R.B. He took part in the Easter Rising and spent the next five years in and out of jail, danger and trouble. He became first O/C East Clare Brigade and later in charge of all three Clare Brigades of the I.R.A. Later was National Army Chief of Staff.
