Being a Series of Humorous Epistles from Tague O’Flannigan, Ballinamuck, to Mike Collins, Renfrewshire. New and enlarged edition. Glasgow, 1903. pp. 152. Red cloth, titled in gilt and black, illustration inset on upper cover. Wear to top of spine. A very good copy. Very scarce.

Loeber O8/3. Comic epistolary fiction set in County Tipperary in the 1870s - 1880s. The letters are written ostensibly from the nationalist, Catholic point of view and strike out at Protestants, landlords, and the English government. However, the stories gently ridicule the power of the priest, the Catholic religion, the Land League and Irish political figures.
