S.n. (c. 1940). Single sheet, printed one side only, unsigned. Rare.
Patrick McGrath was a 1916 veteran with a distinguished Republican record; Thomas Harte was a young man aged 25 from Northern Ireland. They were separately arrested in possession of arms, and sentenced to death by a military tribunal. De Valera did not respond to a campaign for reprieve, and both were executed in September 1940. The executions may have been intended as a signal to Britain, showing De Valera would not allow free rein to the I.R.A. during the war.
