Roy Keane’s fiercely honest and often controversial first autobiography, published in the aftermath of the 2002 Saipan incident which saw Keane’s dramatic departure from the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup squad. Co-written with journalist Eamon Dunphy, the book is a candid account of his early life in Cork, his career with Cobh Ramblers, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United, his uncompromising midfield style, his tempestuous relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson, and his leadership of Ireland. On publication the book attracted wide media attention for its forthright views, particularly Keane’s description of his infamous tackle on Alf-Inge Håland.

First edition copies signed by Keane are sought after, particularly in collectible condition. The book sold over 150,000 copies within weeks of release, cementing it as one of the best-selling sports autobiographies in the UK and Ireland. Keane remains one of the most compelling figures in modern football, and his autograph is increasingly prized given his limited public signings. Copies signed at or around publication are scarce in commerce.
