A highly desirable piece of Irish and British rock history — commemorating one of Phil Lynott’s last major performance with Thin Lizzy.
This striking original poster was produced for Thin Lizzy’s final UK concert, held at the Milton Keynes Bowl on 8 August 1983. Billed as “Thin Lizzy + Special Guests”, it marked the culmination of the band’s farewell tour before their disbandment later that year. Fronted by the charismatic Dublin-born Phil Lynott, Thin Lizzy had by then become one of Ireland’s most influential rock exports, known for anthems such as The Boys Are Back in Town, Whiskey in the Jar, and Jailbreak.
The supporting acts represent a fascinating cross-section of early 1980s British rock: Ian Hunter (formerly of Mott the Hoople), Judie Tzuke, Paul Young’s Q-Tips, and Trimmer & Jenkins. The concert was notable for its celebratory atmosphere and high production values, drawing tens of thousands of fans to the open-air bowl.
