A scarce presentation copy of O’Casey’s autobiographical work, published in the year of first appearance and warmly inscribed by the author. The volume forms part of O’Casey’s celebrated six-volume autobiography and recounts his early experiences in England during the Second World War, blending memoir, social commentary and literary reflection. Copies inscribed by O’Casey are increasingly uncommon, particularly those bearing contemporary inscriptions from the year of publication. A desirable association copy of one of the twentieth century’s most important Irish dramatists.
