Upper cover framed by double gilt fillets enclosing onlay pictorial decoration based on Rackham’s frontispiece, entitled ‘An epitaph for my wife’, a scene from the drawing-room outlined in gilt with the Vicar and his wife depicted in various coloured onlays. Smooth spine with title and author in gilt direct; pictorial endpapers. Small nick to head of spine. Top edge gilt. A fine copy.
