London: Octopus Publishing Group, 2014. pp. 208 First edition. Large quarto. Original bright green publisher’s cloth, stamped and illustrated in black, with matching green endpapers. Illustrated throughout in colour and black-and-white. Signed by Ed Sheeran on the publisher’s printed signature page, beneath a small illustrated figure, as issued. The signature is bold and clear in black ink. A very good copy. Binding clean and firm, with vivid colour remaining strong. A faint, shallow mark to the cloth near the spine, otherwise excellent. Internally fresh and unmarked. Signature crisp and unfaded.
An intimate visual and textual account of Ed Sheeran’s rise from street performer to international musician, created in collaboration with his childhood friend and artist Phillip Butah. The volume combines:
Original drawings and portraits of Sheeran by Butah. Colour and monochrome photographic plates. Extensive autobiographical text by Sheeran. Chapter structure reflecting Sheeran’s albums (+, ×, etc.)
First editions of Ed Sheeran: A Visual Journey signed by the author are increasingly sought after, particularly clean copies retaining strong colour to the notoriously prone green cloth. As Sheeran has become more selective with signings, authenticated signed examples have become steadily scarcer on the market.
A landmark visual memoir, combining original artwork, photography, and personal narrative—an essential modern music collectible and a strong crossover item for music, art, and contemporary culture collectors.
