Contemporary papier-mâché binding executed in Leak's patient 'Relievo' process; chestnut calf over shallow bevelled boards; covers with embossed ornamental borders, sheafs of barley, foliate spandrels, and flowers enclosing decorated titling 'The Book of Ruth.' Spine with embossed floral ornaments, and running title; comb-marbled endpapers; red endbands. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper. All edges gilt. A very good copy.
