One of the most influential early modern maps of Ireland, engraved by Robert Morden (c.1650-1703), the leading English cartographer of the late Stuart period. The map was originally published in Camden’s Britannia and became one of the standard representations of Ireland at the turn of the eighteenth century. Morden’s mapping represented a considerable advance on many earlier depictions of Ireland and remained widely consulted by administrators, travellers and scholars.
