Thomas Johnson Westropp (1860-1922) Antiquary, was born in Limerick. From his youth he had a keen interest in folklore and archaeology. He became a member of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland in 1886 and its president in 1916. He contributed many papers to its ‘Journal’ and other archaeological periodicals.
