"There is probably no country in existence, the history of which presents so many exciting scenes - so much of real romance - whose modern history is so equally poetic with its earlier mystic legends - as Ireland" - Author's Preface.
The 28 parts almost makes up the first two volumes of the three volume set, this would indicate that there were most likely 30 parts in those volumes. In almost forty years we have not seen any part of this historical work in the original parts.
