Boyle: Roscommon Herald, (c.1964). Coloured illustrated wraps. Rare.
Nine months after Joseph Mary Plunkett, the youngest signatory to the Proclamation of Independence of the Irish Republic, had given his life for Ireland, the people of North Roscommon endorsed the Rebellion of 1916 by returning a Sinn Féin candidate at the head of the poll in a Parliamentary bye-election. That successful candidate was George Noble Count Plunkett, father of the Patriot.
