London: Computer & Video Games Magazine, 1993. A complete four-part series of fold-out Street Fighter II strategy guides, produced as special supplements by Computer & Video Games (CVG) magazine during the early 1990s, at the height of the global popularity of Capcom’s landmark fighting game. Issued to coincide with the release of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) version of Street Fighter II, the series provided one of the earliest detailed tactical breakdowns available to players outside the arcade scene.

Each large-format guide folds out to reveal densely illustrated colour panels featuring character profiles, special move instructions, joystick combinations, damage ratings, and strategic advice for mastering the game. The series examines the full roster of fighters across four issues, analysing their strengths, weaknesses, and advanced combinations. Among the characters covered are Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, E. Honda, Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Zangief, Vega, Sagat, and M. Bison, with tactical sections such as “Killer Combinations” and “Winning Tactics” offering competitive insights at a time when the mechanics of combo play were still being discovered by players.

The vivid graphic design—with its bold red and yellow arcade typography and striking Street Fighter II logo—captures the visual language of early 1990s gaming culture. Ephemeral guides of this kind were typically folded into magazines and rarely survive complete as a full run, making a complete set of all four parts increasingly scarce.

Today these guides are sought after by collectors of retro gaming memorabilia, arcade history, and early video game publishing, representing a nostalgic artefact from the golden era of console gaming.

Each guide folded as issued with visible creasing along fold lines and general handling wear. Colours bright and illustrations clear. A complete and attractive survival of this ephemeral gaming series.
