Thomas Bodkin (1887–1961), lawyer, civil servant, art historian, and the first Director of the National Gallery of Ireland, was a prominent figure in Irish cultural life during the first half of the twentieth century. My Uncle Frank is his affectionate and often humorous memoir of his uncle, the celebrated Kildare doctor Francis MacMahon.
This copy is especially desirable as a signed presentation copy from Bodkin to Arthur Ward. The volume is further enhanced by its attractive dust jacket illustrated by Jack B.
