First edition of de Blácam’s scarce verse, part of the Talbot Press’ shilling booklets series issued in the unsettled months of 1920. Best known as the journalist and polemicist Aodh de Blácam (born Hugh S. Blackham, 1891-1951), a Gaelic Leaguer and later literary editor of The Irish Press, published nationalist criticism and fiction (Towards the Republic, The Druid’s Cave, etc.). The rear advert lists companion titles in the series, including Some Poems of Roger Casement, placing the booklet within Talbot’s programme of contemporary Irish writing.
