De Burca 177.
Who that ever lived in, or ever loved Ireland can resist the appeal of ‘Little Mary Cassidy’, ‘The Thief of the World’ or ‘The Ould Plaid Shawl’. Francis Fahy was born ‘not far from old Kinvara’ and though much of his life was spent in exile in England, Kinvara was forever in his heart. His songs have cheered many an exile, brought tears to longing eyes, and guided many a wanderer home.
