Autographed mounted display470 x 320mm with engraving of O’Connell 285 x 20mm. His original signature is written on a London postal label dated May 28th,1838. During that year O'Connell rejected the call of the Protestant tenant-righter William Sharman Crawford for the complete elimination of the Church of Ireland levy. In its stead, O’Connell accepted the Tithe Commutation Act.
